Better Hearing and Speech Month
May 6, 2022
In honor of Better Hearing and Speech Month, we wanted to highlight our two incredible Speech-Language Pathologists at Keystone Pointe.
Amy has worked at Keystone Pointe for three years now, and has almost 30 years of experience working in this setting. Amy graduated in 1993 from Bowling Green State University with her Master’s Degree. She has her Vital Stim Certification and is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Amy has a passion for swallowing treatments and has experience completing swallowing instrumental assessments.
Amy is married to her husband, Chris, and they have two children, David (21) and Erin (19), who both attend Ohio University. In her free time, she likes to exercise, read, and travel.
Amy Parish and Alex Chappell - SLPs at Keystone Pointe
Alex is our other Speech-Language Pathologist and also works as our Therapy Director. She has seven years of experience, all of which have been in the nursing home setting. She has her certification in Vital Stim, is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and has been the Therapy Director at Keystone Pointe since 2020.
Alex graduated in 2015 with her Master’s Degree from Michigan State University. After graduate school, she moved to Cleveland with her husband, Cody. Together they have two children, Jack (3) and Grace (1), and a dog named Remy. Some of Alex's hobbies include travel, golfing, and spending time outside with friends and family.
Alex and Amy shared that their favorite part about working as an SLP is helping patients regain their independence, improve their swallowing, and return home to their prior level of function.
